How to Request a Copy of Your Credit

Report (For Free)

Under federal law, you are entitled to a copy of your credit report annually from all three credit reporting agencies – Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion – once a week!

Here’s how to get your credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com:

You are also entitled to a free credit report in some other circumstances.​If you experience an “adverse action” – like being denied credit, insurance, or employment – because of your credit.

  • If you have reported fraud and believe it may be reflected on your credit report.

  • If you are unemployed and expect to apply for employment within 60 days.

  • If you are receiving public welfare assistance.

  • If you have successfully disputed a credit report entry.

  • If your state law provides for a free credit report for other reasons
